I have a thing for smoothies. A big thing for them. When I was pregnant with Shae I developed an emotional attachment to strawberry and banana smoothies and the longing for them never really faded. I think they make me feel healthy, even if they aren’t actually THAT good for you. I swear that Kauai smoothies have magical hangover curing properties too.
My absolute favourite quick breakfast is a peanut butter and banana smoothie. I make these about once a week, and it’s so easy to throw all the ingredients in the food processor and leave it to blend while I make coffee or try to wake up properly.
Here’s what I use:
- 1/4 cup chocolate Jungle Ultra Energy Cereal
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small tub of chocolate chip yoghurt
- 2 bananas
- 2 BIG tablespoons of peanut butter (I mean Milo heaped spoon big)
Blitz the hell out of it and there you have it! This is enough for 2 x 250ml smoothies. I made these for breakfast yesterday and at Cliff’s suggestion, I added some strong black coffee.. OH MY WORD it was SO good!
